Description

This intensive 4 week course is an excellent opportunity for aspiring potters to learn how to use the Wheel, focusing specifically on developing shapes and individual technique. This course will enable understanding of how pieces are made and the development process. Students will learn how to wedge & centre clay, create basic forms such as cylinders and small bowls and how to trim and glaze work. One to one tuition can be provided during class. This is a perfect class for beginner level students or students wanting more time on the wheel with teacher guidance and direction. 

Includes:

Clay, tools and glazes.

Duration: 2.5 hours x 4 classes

Experience: No experience required

Bring: An apron and towel

Wear: Clothes that can get dirty – this class is hands on. Closed shoes are essential

Collection of work: Students will be emailed when their work is ready for collection (all work must be collected within 2 weeks)

Cost: $450 (please read the terms and conditions for this course prior to booking)


A minimum of 6 students is required for this class to run.

  • A set of your creations made on the day. Students will be notified once work has been glazed and ready to collect.

Please also note, that if you are driving you cannot park on Kent St as it’s permit only, try St David St or Moor St.

Please wear comfortable clothing. Must wear covered/closed shoes.

Sarah’s class was wonderful. She gave the right amount of helpful demonstrations, leaving us maximal time on the wheel. It was good to learn all processes including trimming and glazing and Sarah was always there to help when needed. She was also very encouraging throughout the workshops.

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

OR

  • A refund can be requested 14 days before class starts. Free of charge.
  • A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
  • A credit note can be requested 14 days before the class starts. Free of charge.

No changes will be allowed after these times.

  • For transfers within 7 – 2 days of a 1-day workshop, there will be an admin fee of $20/person.
