As spring approaches, it's the perfect time to explore new possibilities for your sustainable garden. You might be considering what else you can grow this summer, after what's been some difficult tomato and cucumber years!  Look no further. 

Sustainable Gardening Australia is excited to present its latest Master Class series, "Grow More Flavour," designed to inspire home gardeners to enhance their culinary experiences by cultivating a variety of flavorful plants in their backyards, regardless the size. 

In this three-part online series, participants will delve into the world of spices, edible flowers, and plants suitable for creating vinegars, sodas, and cocktails. The sessions aim to empower home gardeners to utilize their existing harvests in innovative ways and introduce new plants that elevate everyday meals and beverages to the next level. 

Session Schedule: 

Thursday, 14th August at 6 PM: Grow More Flavour – Spices: Ginger, Turmeric, and Galangal 

Wednesday, 20th August at 6 PM: Grow More Flavour – Edible Flowers 

Tuesday, 26th August at 6 PM: Grow More Flavour – Plants for Vinegars, Sodas, and Cocktails 

Expert led, these sessions are crafted to provide participants with practical knowledge and inspiration, encouraging them to transform every corner of their garden into a source of vibrant flavours. Whether you're an experienced gardener or just beginning, this series offers valuable insights to enrich your gardening journey. 

Join us online to discover how to cultivate a garden that not only nourishes the body but also delights the senses. 

All sessions are recorded and made available to all those who have booked into the session for a further two weeks.

Your Teacher

The series will be delivered by - 

Claire Bickle is well known for her enthusiastic presenting, writing, broadcasting and educating on her favourite topics; gardening, chooks, children and all things related to sustainability and nature.  She has written for many publications and companies over the years, and you can currently read her regular articles about these topics in Gardening Australia, Earth Garden and Good Organic Gardening Magazines, Rocky Point Growing Confidence and more.

Corinne Mossati is a drinks writer, author, cocktail gardener and founder/editor of Cocktails & Bars, The Gourmantic Garden and Gourmantic websites. With comprehensive experience in hospitality media since 2009, she has written extensively about cocktails, spirits, bars, food, restaurants, travel, and in more recent years, edible and cocktail gardening. 

Teresa Day works are SGA as their Master Class Co-ordinator. She is a sustainable design professional with experience in community development and environmental education.  A home gardener for over 20 years and a chicken keeper and forager she has a particular interest in personal sustainable choices and lifestyle changes individuals can implement within their home and garden to reduce their carbon footprint and connect better with their local community.

  • Bookings are considered final once payment is made and no refunds will be given for non-attendance.
  • If there are insufficient numbers for an event it may be cancelled or postponed by SGA. If this is the case, you will be notified and given the option of either a full refund or a transfer to a different SGA event of equivalent value.
