Description

The Old Auction House is an independently run multi-use arts precinct located in the regional Victorian town of Kyneton, just an hour north of Melbourne.

Housed in a historic weatherboard building, which served as the much loved Ferris auction rooms for over 80 years, the precinct opened in April 2017 and is home to a variety of artistic spaces. With a large section of the building still under renovation,

The Old Auction House is currently home to a retail shop specialising in quality Australian handmade items, four working artist studios including local glass artists Leadlight By Ettore, a teaching space for visiting artists, and two gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions.

The Old Auction House is open 7 days and the entire space has been renovated to be accessible for those with prams, wheelchairs, and mobility issues.

The Old Auction House has a focus on community engagement in the arts. Each studio runs a variety of classes with different artists and materials throughout the year.

Leadlight By Ettore - Run a variety of glass classes including fusing, copper-foiling, leadlighting, and mosaics. With over 30 years of experience in glass arts, Ettore and Rhain run weekend workshops, term classes, private groups and 2 hour sessions.

11 July 2019 • Science for Arts Sake! - School Holiday Session

I arranged for my nine year old grandson, Elliot, to attend this class on Monday and he really enjoyed it. In fact, he said to me that it was much better than he thought it would be! Jan and her assistant were delightful and when I went to pick Elliot up I could see that Jan had really captured the children's imagination. The class was well run and easy to book online. The venue is great and the cost was very reasonable. It is so nice to see the old auction rooms being put to good use. Elliot also enjoyed looking at the art exhibition.
