Description

Our Vintage Hair and Make-up workshops are a fabulous and fun filled 4 hours. Miss Lee will take you through iconic make-up and hair styling from the 1940s while looking at the social and historical impact of the time on these styles.

You’ll be ‘Victorious’ in creating classic war-time hair and makeup after this workshop, one of our most popular! As woman stepped into more industrial type roles, functional yet sophisticated style was called for, resulting in the beautiful and often elaborate hairstyling popular during this period. Learn to master the challenging Victory Roll, with lots of tips and tricks along the way. You will learn to recreate classic makeup, including winged eyeliner and classic red lips – the iconic war-time pinup look.

Rather than a look and learn approach, these are hands on classes where you will learn the techniques to transform yourself! Pull on your glad rags, grab some friends, bring a bottle of  bubbles and join the loveliest afternoon that you could imagine.

24 March 2016 • 1940s Hair and Make-up Workshop

Miss Lee was fantastic! Learning the history of 1940s hair and make-up, then doing the whole lot on ourselves was such an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. I've since invested in my own set of hot rollers - $6 from the op shop, thank you very much!! If you're keen to learn how to master this super feminine look, this workshop is a MUST!

Miss Lee was wonderfully fun and kind. The 1940s styling was great fun and I learnt a lot about doing hair in rollers. Miss Lee was able to accommodate for everyone - very short hair, very long hair, thin hair - you name it. Recommended!

It was great to learn some background on the 1940s and be able to come away with a hairstyle and makeup in keeping with the era! Miss Lee was lovely and very knowledgeable, she put everyone at ease and we all had great fun!
