Description

This workshop will guide you through the hand lettering process, keeping a strong focus on script lettering. From concept, to composition, to producing a finished piece, we will look at how adding detail – through swashes, flourishes, shadows and highlights – can help bring a piece to life.

As you develop and refine your piece you will be working with pens and pencils (feel free to bring along brush pens if you would like to experiment), however during the workshop we will move to chalk, and at the end of the day you will have your very own hand-lettered blackboard to take home and continue practicing!

The majority of the workshop will be centred around creating and refining a single piece, so come armed with a single word or short phrase in mind that you would like to hand letter

All are welcome, but keep in mind that we will be jumping straight into creating a single, finished piece, and so you may gain more from the workshop if you have had previous experience with design, art, illustration or typography.
