The Nitty Gritty – Client Communication for Creatives

Description

Aside from the fun artistic stuff, a working creative also needs to know how to communicate with a client and translate a provided brief. In order to do this it is necessary to have business processes in place and special techniques to get what you need.

In this workshop  Kelly Thompson will walk you through the process – from initial client contact through to quoting, licensing and paperwork, providing you with valuable insights about how to manage a project so both you and your client have a positive experience.

The workshop will be broken into a morning and evening session, with a break for lunch.

The first session will be a presentation and open discussion, and the second session will see students begin to work on a realistic “client” brief, completing the first stage of an illustration/design assignment.

Students do not need great drawing skills to attend, however a passion for illustration and/or design and a desire to succeed in your creative area of specialty is a must!
