Mike Meyer – Tales of a Travelling Signpainter

Description

The traveling sign painter, Mike Meyer, brings his stories and adventures in the sign game to Work-Shop Melbourne in this one-off evening of discussion, demonstration and socialising.

Early arrivals will be treated to Mike’s playful demonstrations, before hearing of his 30+ years in the trade. South America (coming soon!) and the two poles remain the only regions on the globe untouched by his lettering skills and teaching, so expect this to be a truly international insight into the life of a man who follows where his brush leads.

After the talk there will be time for some more painting and laughs over beers (non-alcoholic in Mike’s case!).

This talk is hosted in partnership with Better Letters. To view the full listing of Mike’s Australian workshops and events click here.

About Mike Meyer

Mike Meyer is a sign painter from Mazeppa, a small rural town in Minnesota. He has run his own business since 1989 and, as well as hosting many in his own shop, regularly travels the world to attend and support Letterheads sign painter events.

He is an ambassador for the sign painting business and, in 2012, his dedication was recognised through an appearance in the internationally acclaimed film, Sign Painters.

In 2013 he held his first ever hand-lettering workshop in Christchurch, New Zealand, and this has now gone on to inspire people in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, New York, Sydney, Melbourne, Oslo and more. In his own words, ‘Nothing can replace the ‘power’ of what a brush in your hand can produce’.
