In this 4.5 hour masterclass with Melbourne Illustrator & Designer Bobby Haiqalsyah, you’ll learn the fundamentals of converting your hand-drawn lettering to a vector piece.
We’ll cover some of the basics of type before moving on to some fundamental Adobe Illustrator skills that will help you to create your own piece of lettering in the second half of the class.
If you have some knowledge in hand lettering and want to take it further, or are just keen to learn more about lettering using Adobe Illustrator then this workshop is for you!
About Bobby Haiqalsyah
Bob works with Illustrator and letters a lot, he talks, he walks, he eats rice. Primarily he is a freelance graphic designer with a love of type and illustration. An accidental chef for many years who hung his knives and apron to focus on his creative career. Spent a few years in the branding, media, and advertising industry, now commonly found hustling type, connecting people and making things happen.

- Learn the basics of type including type terminology
- Learn useful tips and techniques for vectoring type in Adobe Illustrator
- Learn the fundamentals of converting your hand-drawn lettering to a vector piece
- Learn how to convert your hand-drawn lettering into a vector piece with confidence
- A laptop with an up to date version of Adobe Illustrator (no later than CS6)
- Paper and pens will be provided, but feel free to bring some of your own materials from home should your have any favourites!
- Bring along any inspiration or examples hand lettering that you like.

We’ll do our darndest to run all scheduled classes, however, let’s face it… sometimes shit happens! Most of our classes must have a minimum of 5 participants before we can put them on. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via text message or email and entitled to a full refund or credit.

(Don’t worry, we’ll only these use to show others how much of a rad time you’re having through social media, newsletters, blogs, website and general Work-Shop promo material)
