This class is taught by Casey Schuurman, an emerging Typographer and Lettering artist and recent graduate of Melbourne's Old School New School for Design and Typography Program in Type Design and Hand Lettering.
Brush Script is a technique developed in the American advertising industry during the 20th century. It’s sophisticated, expressive and allows you to personalise your own typographic projects with some handcrafted flair.
This workshop will guide you through the fundamentals of Brush Script - grasping the basic strokes used for developing beautifully balanced letterforms. You'll walk away with an improved knowledge of applying hand-lettering skills which can be used for a range of other lettering and design projects!
ABOUT CASEY SCHUURMAN
Casey Schuurman is an emerging Typographer and Lettering artist and recent graduate of Melbourne's Old School New School for Design and Typography Program in Type Design and Hand Lettering. She has a love for all things poetic, ironic and involving wordplay, especially when brought to life with hand done, expressive Typography. To her, Type is the perfect intersection between illustration and design, allowing anyone to work seamlessly between their hands and the screen. OSNS became Casey’s second home this year, a space where she could further hone her handcrafted skills and meet likeminded creatives who share this somewhat geeky passion.
