Lobotomies, we're all heard about them right? We've seen them in the Simpsons, in One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, in the Kennedy family... wait, the KENNEDY family?!?!.... WTF?
While you might already think the idea of removing parts of people's brains is a bit messed up, the history of lobotomies is even more chilling than you would expect. Like... it was only banned in the 70's?! That's only 40 years ago people!
Join Maddy as she presents to you, the unbelievable, shocking, borderline-infuriating history of lobotomies. We provide the info, the laughs and the booze- just bring your curiosity and your mates for another round of Boozy Science Night!
Stay tuned for more Boozy Science Night topics later this year!
About the tutor:
Madeleine has been a dork since she was introduced to Biology in her high school years, and enjoys nothing more than speaking about science over a glass of vino! Madellaine is currently studying a Bachelor of Science to major in Microbiology to further fuel her obsession with viruses and science knowledge in general. She is incredibly passionate and a proud "dork", and loves nothing more than sharing new and interesting pieces of information with friends and family, even though they may get sick of their conversations being hijacked to hear about ebola. AGAIN!She has ambitions to continue her study into the field of medicine, specifically vaccination research and development.
- Since facts, science jokes. And booze.
- It's BYO if red wine doesn't float your boat
Lab coats are totally allowed.
Know some science, know no science, know all science? COME!
