ART SMART - Further Information
--- Please pack an art smock in a plastic bag in your child's school bag each week. (We can't share our art smocks any more due to Covid, so each child needs to bring their own.)
--- After the trial class, please text Helen directly to confirm enrolment and a link will be sent to you for payment.
If you do not wish your child to continue after their trial class, please notify us the following days. (But we hope, of course, that your child loves the class!)
--- The first class is free for new students.
--- It's $18 per class and $29 each term for materials (excludes GST).
--- We always share a packet of family assorted biscuits at the start of the class, so we like to check that's ok and that allergies aren't a problem. Please pack a healthy snack as well. The kids are so hungry after school.
--- Please note that it is the parent's responsibility to ensure that their child gets to the class safely and is collected safely.
For the children who attend the school where the class is held and go directly to the art class at the end of school, we find that the children happily make their own way there. But if for any reason you are uncertain they can safely do so, please organise for someone to take them, or ask their class teacher to remind them.
--- If your child is going to be away, we do ask that you please let us know beforehand. We mark the roll with an app at the start of every class. If your child is away and we haven't been notified, you will get sent an automated text as a safety measure.
--- Please sign your child out at the end of the class, so that we know they have been collected safely and by whom. Please bring your own pen for Covid reasons.
--- And when picking up your child, please acknowledge the teacher, so she can see your child is safe with you.
--- We always try and be really careful in Art Smart with art smocks, but somehow paint always seems to magically get through...past collars or the kids take them off when we are busy..usually at clean up time!!
--- So we recommend that the children don't wear their best school uniform and that the older kids that come to the later session change into old clothes.
--- Please keep us updated with any allergies or changes. If your child has an Action Plan, please ensure that you have emailed an up to date copy to artsmartforkids@gmail.com and handed in a hard copy to the Art Smart teacher. Please ensure that any medications that are required are always with your child during Art Smart classes.
--- We sometimes post images of the children's art on our Facebook or Instagram. If you mind us posting images of the children's work, please let us know. We never show faces.
Please let us know if you need to know anything else - the kids have a wonderful time!
