Resin Art: Why Everyone's Doing It
There's a new art trend in town.
There is an art trend that’s sweeping the internets these days and it’s called resin art. You may have mostly seen this on Instagram: pictures of shiny swirled or marbled looking paintings of multiple colours and amoeba-like shapes. (Okay, that doesn’t sound too appealing, but you get the drift).
Resin art is a fairly new trend in the art world today. Many artists are using an interesting art technique called acrylic pouring to create resin art, and then finishing it off with clear resin for that beautiful sheen. But why is resin art so popular these days? Here are a few reasons:
The process to create resin wall art is relatively easy that you could create a finished piece in a mere couple of minutes. The technique involved here doesn’t require anyone to have special artistic skills to get started, which means even beginners can produce something quite stunning in just a short amount of time. You literally just pour mixtures of paint onto your canvas, play around and then voila!
Playing with paints encourages creativity. When making resin art, usually one doesn’t start out having a grand master plan in place. All you need to do is pour, swirl, play around with the colours and wait to see what amazing results you can come up with.
I mean the pictures you’ve seen say it all. At first look, these resin paintings seem magical and highly complex, and yet they’re easily achieved with a tiny bit of know-how. Wouldn’t you love to make this beautiful, breathtaking mess?
