Description

Join us in special celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Corban family Homestead for the reveal of the next iteration of our foyer Heritage Wall, while A.A.Corban’s Great-granddaughter Sharon Alexander shares anecdotes from her family’s original home.

We’ll take a tour of the group exhibition Al Balad Alam : The land we rest upon, led by the curators and one of the exhibiting artists Nicola Fraser, another Corban family descendant whose connection to her maternal ancestors is intimately referenced through her craft of crochet.

After a taste of some traditional Lebanese treats, we’ll then continue on a Heritage Tour of the Estate to learn some historic facts about the old Corbans Winery buildings and some of the fascinating stories within its walls.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open 7 days a week, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

Omg - “A house of love” was an amazing combo of history, family (not mine), art and food It was really special to hear Corban family members insights and memories and all the themes intertwined fabulously. Very special experience indeed

Thank you for a most enjoyable and informative event. A great combination of art works explained by the artists; Corban family history shared; delicious Lebanese food; and a guided tour of the site.

Great opening remarks by Sharon Alexander to unveil the Historical Wall at the Entrance to the Art Gallery, Incredible insightful art and Artist's presentations. Nicola Fraser's presentation and Art work resonated. Wonderful hospitality by the Staff of CEAC

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

  • A refund can be requested anytime before class starts. Free of charge.
  • A transfer can be requested anytime before the class starts. Free of charge.
  • A credit note can be requested anytime before the class starts. Free of charge.

No changes will be allowed after these times.

Enrolments are taken on a ‘first in first served’ basis.

A Deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.

Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles participant to a FULL REFUND. 

Cancellation by participant results in transfer where possible, full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.

Please be advised that your contact details will be made available to your Workshop Tutor who may need to contact you over the duration of your course. Please notify us if you prefer that we do not do this.
