Description

Led by award-winning poets Ruby and Eric, and other stellar members of Te Kāhui, this fun one-day workshop is perfect for teens interested in poetry, short stories, spoken word, and more.

Explore the power of storytelling in a dynamic writing workshop designed just for rangatahi!

Drawing inspiration from different landscapes, prompts, exercises, and discussions; teens will have the opportunity to create and share their own stories in a safe and supportive environment. Whether you’re new to storytelling or coming back to pick up where you left off - everyone is welcome!

Facilitated by award winning poets Eric Soakai (2019 New Zealand National Slam Champion and 2021 University of Auckland Slam Champion) and Ruby Macomber (2022 Starling Residency recipient at the New Zealand Young Writers Festival) students will be expertly guided through a day of creative exploration and expression.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.

We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

  • A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
  • Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
  • Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
  • Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.
