Back by popular demand, Wikuki Kingi’s Introduction to Carving workshop will focus on the design, construction, and carving of a traditional weapon or Waka Hoe wooden paddle using both hand and power tools.

Starting with an introduction to carving, you will work with master carvers to create your own paddle or traditional weapon, and understand its use, form, and function. Traditional stories and chants will be shared to broaden knowledge of waka, navigation, and paddles.
