This was a great experience! I leaned a lot and gained a great appreciation for not just the work but the skill that goes into blacksmithing. Matt is a great teacher and explains why things are done and why there are things you want to avoid. Watching him demonstrate each step gives you an appreciation of his knowledge, skill and passion for blacksmithing. Make no mistake, this 4 day course is a serious physical workout that will leave you exhausted if you're not used to it but I will say that the Matt did a great job of spreading out that physical effort and easing it off near the end of the fourth day where we were rewarded with the finished tools we'd made and maintained over those four days.

I had an absolutely amazing time at the Eveleigh Works Blacksmiths Toolbox class! I’d never done anything like this before, but Matt was a fantastic teacher—patient, knowledgeable, and great at making everyone feel comfortable, no matter our experience level. By the end of the 4 days , I’d learned new skills and came away with a great set of blacksmiths tools and a fantastic hammer. If you are curious about blacksmithing or just looking to try something totally new, do it. It’s an experience I’ll never forget!

I completed a course several years ago and I loved this master class. All the tips and tricks are explained so students can improve their skills and become better blacksmiths. Questions are encouraged and we all leave with hand made blacksmithing tools.
