This nationally accredited Food Handlers Course (SITXFSA005 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety) is designed for individuals working in the hospitality industry. Whether you're preparing, cooking, serving, or storing food, this course provides the essential skills and knowledge required under Australian Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A.
Participants will learn how to correctly handle and store potentially hazardous food, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure a safe food environment in commercial settings like restaurants, cafés, and small food businesses.
Assessment
- An online quiz with 40 questions (must be completed in one sitting; up to 2 attempts allowed, 100% score required).
- Portfolio tasks including: a personal presentation photo and explanation, hazard report, cross-contamination photo and explanation, and handwashing video.

- A good understanding of spoken and written English is essential.
- This course is not suitable for workers in health or aged care sectors.
- It can take up to 10 business days to receive your certificate after course completion.
