Food Safety Supervisor - Hospitality (SITXFSA006)
Under Australian regulations, every food business must appoint a designated Food Safety Supervisor. This one-day accredited course (SITXFSA006 – Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices) equips hospitality professionals with the necessary skills to supervise food safety procedures in all areas of service including storage, preparation, display, service, and disposal.
Participants will engage in practical training and assessments, including on-site observations at operational food premises. Successful completion results in a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
Course Overview
- Designed for individuals who handle food as part of their day-to-day job (e.g., cooks, caterers, kitchen hands, food and beverage attendants).
- Includes best practices for maintaining hygiene, preventing contamination, and ensuring food safety.
- This course is tailored for the hospitality sector. Different training applies for the health sector (e.g., childcare, aged care).
Prerequisite
- It is recommended to complete SITXFSA005 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety prior to this course to gain foundational knowledge.

Participants must wear flat, enclosed rubber-soled shoes. Long hair should be tied back and unnecessary jewellery removed.
