Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) - VIC
Gain the skills and certification required to responsibly serve alcohol in Victoria. This face-to-face RSA training is mandatory for all staff involved in the sale, service, or promotion of alcohol under general, on-premises, late-night, or packaged liquor licenses.
The course is nationally accredited (SITHFAB021) and approved by Liquor Control Victoria (LCV). It covers recognising intoxicated persons, managing safety in venues, understanding legal responsibilities, and developing professional service practices.
Completion of this course also requires an additional online module from LCV titled Sexual Harassment and Assault: Recognise, Prevent and Respond.
Course Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or above to enroll; RSA certificate valid for use from 18 years old
- Valid for 3 years, followed by a free RSA refresher course online via LCV
- Completion of both face-to-face and online modules required for certification
Assessment
- Active participation, role plays, and a written questionnaire
- 100% pass required on the theory assessment (multiple choice, true/false)
- Three practical role-play scenarios: Drug Affected, Emotional Distress, and No Food
Certificate Issuance
- Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment: SITHFAB021 RSA will be emailed within 2–3 weeks
- RSA Certificate of Completion downloadable from LCV Learning Hub after online module completion
