In Victoria, obtaining an RSA Certificate of Completion is mandatory for anyone working in licensed venues. This face-to-face training covers all the essential aspects of responsible alcohol service, equipping participants with the skills and legal knowledge necessary to operate in hospitality and retail settings where alcohol is served.
The course includes two components:
- An LCV-approved RSA course conducted in person
- Sexual Harassment and Assault: Recognise, Prevent and Respond – completed online via the LCV Learning Hub
This course ensures compliance with Victoria’s Liquor Control Victoria (LCV) requirement. Participants must be at least 16 years old at course commencement; however, the certificate becomes valid for use once the individual turns 18.

- Dealing with intoxicated or underage clients
- Creating safe and responsible hospitality environments

- Active class participation and answering questions
- Written assessment (multiple-choice and true/false)

- The RSA Certificate is valid for three years; students must complete a free online refresher course before expiration.
