Our 2nd Spanish class – This class is part 2 of our range of Spanish style classes….
Familiarise yourself with an authentic side to Spanish cuisine. Spain is famous for tapas and these bite-size dishes, this class is an ideal class to increase your repertoire for entertaining and enjoying Spanish fare with family & friends.
In our Spanish Tapas class you will learn how to create;
- Field Mushrooms with Hazelnut Gremolata
- Chilled Gazpacho
- Great Southern Deep Sea Fish & Potato Fritters
- Pork Belly Bites with Fennel
- Empanadas (crescent-shaped, savory beef pastries)
- Spanish Omelette
- Local Squid with Paprika & Garlic
- Tuna & Rice Tortitas
Followed by;
- Portuguese Tarts
Things to note;
Please arrive a few mins before class start time.
We will share our ‘feast’ of all we have created at approx 715pm, accompanied by non-alcoholic beveragesOption to purchase Alkoomi wine available on the day with your meal.
Minimum 10 guests, Maximum of 15* Full list of above recipes will be created should class maximum be reached, in the event of lower guest numbers, volume of recipes may alter.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Our fully interactive cooking sessions are offered in Chef’s custom built cooking workshop (our ‘Atelier’).Upon entering you will be requested to wash your hands thoroughly at our double basin in our ‘Larder’ and then please frequently do so throughout the class along with the use of hand sanitiser provided.Our classes will begin with an introduction and overview of the recipes and cuisine for the day, followed by hands-on preparation before you then head upstairs (via stairs or lift) to our dining room to enjoy a feast with your peers.
We can accommodate up to 22 guests around our marble workstations.You will prepare an array of recipes and at times this can be solo or in pairs, should you come along solo you may be invited to ‘make a new friend’ and partner up to share your skills and increase your knowledge together.
It is common for each class to have up to 12 recipes being prepared (for fully booked classes), these recipes will be shared across our attendees and whilst you won’t prepare all the dishes personally you will receive all of them to take home in a printed booklet. Frederick will frequently bring the class together around his ‘Chef’s Table’ to learn tips for the array of recipes on the day to increase your knowledge and confidence in your own kitchen.
Our ‘shoppe’ will then be open for 1 hour when our classes are completed for you to peruse should you wish to do so or purchase pre-ordered items.
CLASS TIMING
You are welcome to arrive up to 15 mins prior to the designated start time of your booked class, we will be beginning our class induction promptly at the stated set class time on the day.Typically classes begin at 1030am and finish at approximately 330pm.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
With advance notice, we try our utmost to cater for food allergies. However, as our number one priority is our guests/students safety, we recommend you contact us to discuss your specific dietary needs so that we may determine if the class you are considering is suitable for your requirements.
Our class environment and larder contain a variety of ingredients and therefore no liability is accepted by Kirby’s Atelier de Cuisine for you preparing or consuming foods that are potentially risk foods to you, examples being (and not limited to): gluten/dairy/nuts/seeds/grains and seafood.
DO WE SERVE ALCOHOL
- We are fully licensed, a stunning selection of Alkoomi wines will be available for purchase on the day. We will provide you complimentary sparkling water, chilled rain water and a selection of soft drinks with your meal.
- Alcohol will not be served within our teaching environment, only after the dishes are prepared – alcohol will be offered in conjunction with food at all times.
- Alcohol will only be offered to guests 18+ years of age and you are responsible for ensuring your conduct is socially acceptable in a public environment.
- We will not tolerate guests who are violet, abusive, quarrelsome, disorderly or behaving indecently on our licensed premises.
- We reserve the right to refuse the service of alcohol to any guest. Further we reserve the right to ask you to leave if we deem, at our absolute discretion, that your behaviour is offensive, inappropriate or insulting.
CHILDREN
- Children aged between 14 years and 18 years are welcome however must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to any of our classes. The parent or guardian will be responsible for their safety and conduct at all times.
- Children aged 14-18 will pay the same class attendance fee as adults.

You will get
- Comprehensive recipe booklet.
- Your apron is for you to keep and use when you replicate your recipes at home.
Appropriate for

What to bring
- Please feel free to bring along a water bottle for use during the class preparation stage (a water station will be set up in the Atelier however you may wish to bring along your own water bottle).
What to wear
Please wear closed in, comfortable shoes – you will be standing during Chef’s class introduction and the preparation of our dishes for the day, you will then be seated upstairs for your lunch with your classmates in our upstairs dining room. Please ensure long hair is tied back – thank you.
