Join Melbourne-based artist Rehann for a dynamic five-week watercolour course designed to infuse your paintings with bold colour and spontaneous expression. This paint-along style class encourages fearless creativity, helping you develop intuitive painting skills and achieve finished artworks by the end of each session. Rehann’s expert guidance will ignite your passion for the watercolour medium while exploring both technical and emotional depth.
Rehann will help you to bring excitement to your watercolours though the bold use of colour and an embrace of spontaneity which translates directly to the finished work.
What to expect:
Each session will be a paint-along format, where Rehann will demonstrate and everyone paints together. Each session, will result in a finished work.
- WEEK 1 – will focus on developing trust in your materials, cultivating intuitive decision-making, and leaning into the expressive potential of the medium without fear.
- WEEKS 2 & 3 – will be about understanding and experiencing what “bold” really means in watercolour, letting go of perfectionism and outcome-based painting and painting fast, big and fearlessly.
- WEEKS 4 & 5 – will explore what makes a watercolour painting feel luminous or vibrantly lit. Through live demonstration and guided practice, participants will gain tools to create paintings with both visual depth and emotional resonance.
What to bring:
- Paper.
- 300 gsm, cold pressed, Baohong, Arches or Saunders Waterford full sheet.
- Palette.
- Crimson Lake or Alizarin Crimson (Cool Red).
- Vermillion or Scarlet Lake or Cadmium Red (Warm Red).
- Prussian Blue (Cool Blue).
- French Ultramarine (Warm Blue).
- Yellow Ochre, Cad Yellow.
- Burnt Sienna.
- White Gouache.
- Brushes.
- Nam weasel hair bamboo brush (4cm).
- Escoda squirrel series 1140 round mop (no18).
- Neef series goat hair hake brush 4.5cm.
- Bring whatever brushes you normally use.

His practice explores the dynamic qualities of watercolour and inks, to imbue his paintings with a sense of stillness and silence. Trained in design, he now paints full time and shares his love for the medium through workshops and retreats.

We also offer our member’s access to lessons, paint outs, art demonstrations, competitions, exhibitions and arts awards.

Our membership
Membership is open to anyone between 16 and 116 years of age. Whether you are just starting out in painting or drawing or have been doing it for years you will love being a part of this group, meeting with like minded people to express yourself visually.
Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
- A transfer can be requested anytime before the class starts. Free of charge.
No changes will be allowed after these times.
We recommend the refund upgrade option upon checkout in case you’re not able to attend the class. Learn more about refund upgrade option.
Terms & Conditions
Transfers for classes that cannot be attended need to be made up within the same term.
Non members are entitled to only purchase ONE single $30 tutored class. All additional purchases require the participant to become a member of the Box Hill Art Group. This condition excludes Life Drawing sessions and one day workshops which are open to everyone.
Memberships are not transferable to other people. Class payments are not transferable to other members.
