Sustainable Sewing & Upcycling Course

Learn sustainable sewing and creative upcycling in this hands-on textiles course in Sydney. Got fabric scraps, old clothes or half-finished projects tucked away? Instead of throwing them out, transform them into stylish, practical creations while building your sewing skills and confidence.

Across four practical sessions, you will explore how to deconstruct garments, harvest usable fabric and trims, and apply innovative techniques to give discarded textiles a second life. With fashion waste on the rise, upcycling offers a fun and empowering way to reduce your environmental footprint while expressing your creativity.

You will complete at least two original projects, such as turning old jeans into a sturdy tote bag or transforming fabric scraps into a cushion cover or wall hanging. Guided by a fashion industry professional and sustainability advocate, you will gain both technical know-how and a creative design mindset to continue upcycling beyond the classroom.
