what students are saying
Join the Friends of Edendale Farm as we learn how to identify the plants and animals that consider Edendale their home. Anne-Marie King from the Friends of Edendale will lead the walk around Edendale and around the Diamond Creek trail, which is home to a diverse array of indigenous plants. We will meet at the Macey room and there will be a short presentation on how you can learn to identify the plants, and some refreshments. Then we will commence our walk where we will focus on identifying plants, animals and insects we see along the way. If we can squeeze it in, water samples will also be taken on the day for platypus DNA testing. You are welcome to bring along your questions.
The Friends of Edendale are working with Nillumbik Shire Council to protect the reserve from weeds and enhance it through planting indigenous plants. This walk is an opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about Edendale, and what species inhabit it.
