Materials Exploration: Mixed Media with Belinda Fox
Join us for a two-day workshop with acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Belinda Fox, offering a rare opportunity to experiment with a variety of unique, handcrafted materials and mediums.
Across the weekend, you’ll explore four distinct surfaces, each offering its own tactile and expressive qualities:
Belle Arti Fabriano: Paper Stretched to Canvas
Clayboard Panel
Aluminium Artist Panel
Stonehenge Paper
Working with a curation of exceptional water-based materials chosen from the Chapman & Bailey art shop, participants will have the chance to test, compare & learn how to best use;
Schmincke Horadam Aquarell Watercolours
- Schmincke Supergranulating Watercolours
Lascaux Resonance Gouache
Art Spectrum Acrylic Inks
Masking Fluid
Lascaux UV Protect
You’ll also work with Da Vinci Colineo watercolour brushes (a beautiful synthetic alternative to the classic sable brush) and a range of techniques suited to each surface.
This workshop is the perfect chance to pick up and experiment with a new surface, medium, or tool; be inspired by unfamiliar materials or the studio environment; learn from an experienced artist who moves fluidly across multiple processes; or simply enjoy a few hours dedicated to creative play.
Day one will focus on experimentation & comparison of materials & surfaces.
Day two you will pull from the experiments, refining your favourite approach & working from a still life set up in the beautiful cbOne Studios, to create your resolved artwork to take home.
All products explored during the workshop will be available through Chapman & Bailey’s art supply shop, with discounts on materials used offered to participants. The emphasis throughout is on curiosity, play, and creative confidence: encouraging each artist to expand their toolkit and find new ways to express themselves through new materials.
