Shannan Nicole is an Australian equine and pet portrait, seascape, abstract, and resin artist working from her studio in East Victoria Park, Western Australia. Shannan is a full time artist & teacher and is also the CoFounder of Shades Resin Co selling Resin & Pigments made by Artists for Artists.

After excelling in Art at Mercedes College, she was accepted into Edith Cowan University to study Visual Arts, later completing studies in Business and Professional Accounting at Curtin University. She spent over 20 years working and studying in bookkeeping and accounting before returning fully to her creative practice in 2016, following the birth of her daughter. It was during this time that she reconnected with painting and realised where her true passion lay.

Shannan now works full-time as an artist and educator, teaching a wide range of artistic skills and mediums to both children and adults. Her teaching focuses on strong foundational techniques that can be adapted across all skill levels. From her East Victoria Park studio, she offers workshops in resin art, oil painting, pastels, alcohol inks, and other fluid and abstract mediums.

Working with resin since 2018, Shannan has exhibited large-scale seascapes and sold numerous works to Western Australian clients and galleries. Her favourite medium is oil painting, where she creates large, soft, and moody abstract seascapes and landscapes.

She primarily uses pastels for commissioned equine and pet portraits, while oils are reserved for her more contemporary, expressive works. A lifelong animal lover—particularly drawn to horses—Shannan has spent years developing her own distinctive style of equine art, specialising in original commissioned portraits and vibrant, modern interpretations.
