Weaving for beginners!
1. Brief introduction to weaving and how a loom works
2. A dressed loom, ready to weave will be provided for each participant
3. Guidance in starting a woven item (and later finishing techniques)
4. Selection of yarn will be provided to weave with

You will learn
- You'll learn the basics of weaving on a 4-shaft table loom, and have a go at weaving various patterns. We'll give you more information about the Handweavers and Spinner Guild and the weaving courses we have available for beginners, so you can continue your weaving journey!
You will get
- You'll take home your woven results, a lovely samplet of your work.
Appropriate for
Everyone is welcome, but especially beginners interested in weaving. Children 12 years and older may attend, but must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.

- No materials required, just bring your enthusiastic self!
What to wear
Comfortable casual clothing.
Your Teacher
Your tutor is Edyta Hoxley.
Edyta has been involved in various fibre arts for most of her life. She lives locally and has a herd of alpacas to keep her busy and supplied with zero-mile fluff. Weaving is her current main focus and combining this with years of experience in adult education, she will provide a fun and information-filled weaving taster.

The Guild's aim is to bring together those who practise handweaving, spinning and allied crafts and to help and encourage them to increase their knowledge, understanding and skills by discussion, demonstration, exhibition, teaching and the provision of quality resource materials.
Our Guild rooms house an excellent library and craft supply, sell members work and host a wonderful range of interest groups, classes and workshops.

If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

- A refund can be requested 7 days before class starts. Free of charge.
- A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
No changes will be allowed after these times.
