Dyeing Workshop - At the Yarra Valley Wool Show

Learn to dye a variegated skein of sock yarn by hand-painting with Landscapes dyes. This class will cover yarn preparation, colour choice and mixing, as well as touching on techniques for effects like self-striping or gradient yarns. Discover how to calculate how much dye to use for a project and how to plan your dyeing to get the knitted or woven outcome you want. Participants will take home one 100g skein of hand-painted sock yarn and one 20g mini skein as well as detailed notes with instructions and tips.

Please note: finished yarn will be collected one hour after the conclusion of the session to allow for heating time. Please plan this into your day at the show. Additional yarn and dye packs will be available to purchase.
