Six Week Pottery Course
This six-week pottery course for adults offers a creative and immersive experience for anyone interested in exploring both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques.
You can choose to focus on hand-building, wheel-throwing, or enjoy a combination of both throughout the course. Through weekly guided sessions, you will build confidence, develop practical ceramic skills, and create a range of functional and decorative pieces in a relaxed and supportive studio environment.
The course covers foundational pottery techniques, including wheel throwing, pinch pots, coil building, slab construction, trimming, surface decoration, and glazing. Feel free to explore your own creative style while receiving individual guidance tailored to your experience level.
Course Details:
Duration: 6 weeks
Class length: 2.5 hours per week
Suitable for all skill levels (ages 16+)
Choose between hand-building, wheel-throwing, or a combination of both
Learn techniques including pinch, coil, slab, centring, trimming, and glazing
Create a variety of functional and decorative ceramic pieces

Details
You will learn
- Learn the fundamentals of hand-building and wheel throwing, including pinch pots, coils, slabs, centring, shaping, trimming, surface decoration and glazing. Develop your confidence and explore your own creative style with personalised guidance.
You will get
- Students will create their own functional and decorative ceramic pieces to take home. All clay, glazing and firing are included, and finished works will be ready for collection approximately 2–3 weeks after the course.
Appropriate for
Adults aged 16 and over, from complete beginners to experienced makers. No previous ceramics experience is required. The course is suitable for anyone interested in learning hand-building, wheel throwing, or a combination of both.
Preparation
What to wear
Comfortable, casual clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are recommended, and long hair should be tied back when using the wheel.

Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 3 days before class starts. Free of charge.
- A transfer can be requested 3 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$5.00 applies.
No changes will be allowed after these times.

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Lala art studio or organised by Lala art studio must agree to these terms and conditions.

I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Lala art studio
2.) PHOTO & VIDEO
I agree to give Lala art studio unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Lala art studio classes and events or on Lala art studio premises. (For use of Lala art studio marketing materials).
