Wheel Throwing & Hand Building Course – Kids (6 Weeks)
This 6-week ceramics course for kids offers a fun and creative introduction to both wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Students can choose to focus on either wheel throwing, hand building, or explore a mix of both throughout the course, depending on what they enjoy most.
Over the 6 weeks, students will build confidence while learning how to create a range of functional and decorative ceramic pieces in a supportive studio environment. The course encourages creativity, experimentation, and hands-on learning.
Wheel throwing students will learn foundational skills such as centring clay, shaping forms, and trimming, while hand building students can explore techniques including pinch pots, coiling, slab building, sculpting, and surface decoration.

- Students will be notified when their work is ready for collection
Finished works will be ready for collection approximately 2–3 weeks after the course ends.
This course is ideal for kids who enjoy working with clay, exploring creativity, and learning ceramic techniques in a relaxed and supportive studio environment.

You will learn
- Kids will learn the basics of ceramics through fun, hands-on activities. They’ll explore hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, coils and slabs, while developing creativity, confidence and practical making skills.
You will get
- Each child will have the opportunity to create their own unique ceramic pieces to take home. Clay, glazing and firing are included, and finished pieces will be ready for collection approximately 2–3 weeks after the class.
Appropriate for
Children aged 6–15 years, from complete beginners to those with some previous ceramics experience. No prior experience is required. The class is designed for kids who enjoy being creative, making things with their hands and exploring ceramics in a fun and supportive studio environment.
Preparation
What to wear
Comfortable, casual clothing that can get dirty is recommended. Closed-toe shoes are required, and long hair should be tied back.

Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 3 days before class starts. Free of charge.
- A transfer can be requested 3 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$5.00 applies.
No changes will be allowed after these times.

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Lala art studio or organised by Lala art studio must agree to these terms and conditions.

I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Lala art studio
2.) PHOTO & VIDEO
I agree to give Lala art studio unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Lala art studio classes and events or on Lala art studio premises. (For use of Lala art studio marketing materials).
