What would your pet look like in a Gauguin painting?
Come paint with me and we’ll find out together in my relaxed Paul Gauguin & Post-Impressionist Paint & Sip workshop in Northcote. Bring along a photograph -- the example shown is my girl, Astro -- and I’ll show you how to transform it using bold colour, strong outlines, simplified forms and imaginative surroundings inspired by Gauguin’s distinctive approach to painting.
This is a beginner-friendly class, and I’ll take you through the process step by step — from your first sketch and colour choices through to the finished painting you take home. This is much more about experimenting and having fun than getting everything “right.”
Come on your own or bring a few friends, BYO something to drink and nibble on, and spend a couple of hours switching off from the outside world and making something colourful. Unleash your inner artist and let your creativity flow! Learn the techniques of a Post-Impressionist master and create your own masterpiece. Book now!

Organized by
AngNdalArt
Angela Ndalianis is a Melbourne artist who operates under AngNdalArt. She is drawn to colour, storytelling and the pleasures of visual excess. After nearly 30 years as a professor of screen media and art history, she turned her attention to making art. Her research took her from Gauguin and Bernini to horror films and virtual worlds, all in pursuit of one question: how does art make us feel?
Her paintings bring that curiosity and fascination with sensory experiences to the canvas. Bold colour and intricate line meet rhinestones, embroidery and richly textured fabrics. Sometimes strange, sometimes playful, her work invites viewers into worlds where decoration carries a story of its own.
Angela’s paintings have been shown at Brunswick Street Gallery, Fly Little Bird, Red Gallery, Linden New Art and Gallery Unbound. Her first solo exhibition, Divine Darkness: A Female Odyssey, opened at Red Gallery in November 2024. She returned in October–November 2025 with Supremacy of the Zombie Bunny, and continued exhibiting at Gallery Unbound and Linden New Art in 2026.
She has recently decided to bring together her love of art and teaching in hands-on creative workshops for children and adults. Her classes explore artistic styles, materials and techniques, including subjects like pet portraits and the fantastic. The idea is to experiment, build confidence and have a genuinely good time creating your art and finding your voice.
