Description

Clay Talk @ Montsalvat is a ceramics facility located in the grounds of Montsalvat – Australia’s oldest continuously active artists’ community. The studio is an addition to Montsalvat’s already rich history as a place where art is made, taught, shown and experienced.

At Clay Talk, we aim to be a creative environment that brings students and practitioners together through education and skills-based programs. Currently we offer classes where you can learn wheel throwing and hand building at all stages of development supplemented by specialist programs and workshops taught by established artists.

07 February 2020 • Discover Wheel Throwing Thu 6:30pm

This is a fantastic introduction to wheel throwing. Such an inclusive atmosphere and Denholm is knowledgeable and eager to help. The surroundings are beautiful. There is no better place to learn the art of pottery than Montsalvat.

05 February 2020 • Handbuilding with Mary-lou Pittard

Love it! To learn handbuilding in a studio in the beautiful Montsalvat grounds is wonderful. A relaxed class taught by the wonderful Mary-lou who teaches as well as giving the freedom to develop your own ideas.

26 January 2020 • School Holiday Wheel Throwing Workshop (8+ yrs)

So much fun! My two daughters absolutely loved their holiday class and can’t wait to pick up their creations. The small class size meant each child was given lots of support and advice and help along the way. Denholm was very welcoming and his calm, encouraging and kind approach made my girls feel relaxed and comfortable outside of their comfort zone. We’ll be back!
