31 January 2018 • Silversmithing Skills (Day Class)

Wow what a day... I never really knew what to expect, I just knew that I wanted to try something different and this certainly was a great day ... Philip guided me into forging and hammering my 1st ever copper bowl. I am one who is always scared of tools so had always steered away from them... Philip with all his years of experience certainly gave me the confidence to use torches, cutters, hammers etc and each step of my journey on the day was an oh WOW experience watching what once was a flat piece of copper take form into a bowl... I am so proud of what I made on the day and after then attending the Hammered Bangle Class on Saturday now need to make a difficult decision do I sign up for more Silversmithing classes or the Jewelry Classes...

The class was a total joy, time just evaporated the moment it started. Philip is as excellent a teacher as he is a craftsman. He demonstarted the variety of techniques used in silversmithing and made it a point to see that I got a good grasp of them. Very kind of them to give me the time to finish my piece within the day. Workshop was very well equipped and had a great atmosphere. Definitely a repeat student !

Well equipped workshop with individual workstations; separate rooms for wet / blowtorch work and forging. Excellent teacher; very friendly atmosphere. I progressed much faster than with other teaching institutions.
