Over 4 weeks of classes we will introduce you to the basics of Floral design.
Under the guidance of the lead florist at Flos Botanical Studio, you will learn our style and techniques used to create our design and signature style.
There will be plenty of time to pick our brains and ask questions along the way.
This is a great way to get a taste for floristry and the kinds of skill and techniques florists use daily. Whether you are hoping to pick it up as a hobby or considering a career change.
We will cover how to prepare flowers, how to work with seasonal, decide on colour pallets and select the perfect materials. We will go through our toolkits and take you through the handbook.
We will finish off creating a small arrangement which you can take home and enjoy.
HAND TIED ARRANGEMENT
Using a beautiful mixture of seasonal blooms we will learn the technique of Straussing or spiralling. this is the technique used to manipulate blows into wild and organic gift bouquets as well as more refined bridal bouquets. this technique will teach you how to have control over your arrangments.
Following making out bouquets we will learn to wrap them and you can take them home to enjoy.
This week we will learn to intricately wire blooms. this is used to create Buttonholes, flower crowns and cake flowers.
We will cover a range of wire techniques and use them to create a headpiece of your choice, either a crown, headband or comb.
In this class we will cover how to make a vase arrangement, you will be provided with a vase and we will show you how to make the perfect table centre and hoe to manipulate and control your flowers without using Oasis.
You will have your vase and blooms to take home.

Flos Botanical Studio is a Melbourne based floral studio with a retail space in Johnston St Abbotsford. With a background in and ongoing Fine Art practice Vivien focuses on seasonal artisan blooms that celebrate the locally grown and make the most of our seasons. The fragrant, the delicate and unexpected.
Vivien's work is bespoke and created uniquely for each client. Vivien aims for her work to be immersive and emotive, creating a space to be experienced rather than traditional ornamental floristry.
Flos Botanical Studio requires 48 hours notice via email prior to the start of a class or event for a full refund or transfer. Refunds and transfers will not be processed if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the event commencing. We do not offer refunds for missed classes. There are no fees for refunds or transfers. For cancellations prior to the 48 hour cut off, email Flos Botanical Studio to organise a refund or transfer

Your space will not be confirmed until full payment has been received.
If you cannot attend a class for any reason, refunds are not available due to our intimate class sizes - so please assign a friend to take your place and let us know of the name change by email
We have class minimums and in the case, we don’t make them we will notify you as soon as possible and you will be offered a refund or class transfer.
If we need to cancel a class for any reason, we may do so at any time before the class is scheduled to begin. You will receive a full refund or you can choose to attend another class of the same value (or plus or minus any difference in class fee) within a 12 month period
