This was my third in a series of Floral Basics 4 Week Courses - Block A, Block B and this one Block C. I really enjoyed all three courses across a total of 12 weeks. It was very nice to see some of the same people at each 4 week course and to meet new participants - some of whom were dabbling in floral design for the first time. The beauty of the 4 week courses is that your skills develop more quickly with the frequency of the workshops and you also see your classmates' skills develop too. Having the regular commitment also builds confidence faster than doing the odd workshop over a longer timeframe. Francesca's choice of curriculum provides a well rounded look into the world of floral design and challenges participants in a way that gives such a sense of achievement when you take home a beautiful creation that you have made yourself. Francesca is a very good teacher - she demonstrates the required skill first with detailed explanation of techniques used and then lets you play. Francesca regularly checks in with everyone to ensure they understand what they are doing and most importantly are enjoying themselves. Francesca may offer advice or adjustments to ensure you achieve the best results but she never takes over and finishes the arrangement for you. I particularly love that Francesca has a large selection of fresh flowers to choose from which makes your design truly your own. Participants are able to select their preferred flowers and colour combinations ensuring each design is truly unique and individual. Despite watching the same demonstration and having the same flower choices the diversity in the finished arrangements is unbelievable. Your individual interpretation, style and creativity is very evident in every design. Francesca's workshops are my favourite way to spend quality time with like-minded people and give me a break from the day to day pressures of my busy home life.

would like to take a minute of your time to discuss the mental health and therapeutic benefits of Francesca's amazing floral workshops and Francesca's Flower Club. I have serious mental health issues that I willingly talk about with anyone who's interested. I am also in the fortunate position to have a supportive medical team and generous NDIS plan. I use this plan to seek art therapy that gets me out in the community. A couple of years ago I discovered Francesca! During the last month I have been quite seriously mentally unwell. But I had a full calendar of Francesca's workshops booked and no matter how unwell I was, I attended most of them. The calm soothing encouraging environment, the promise of a beautiful bouquet of flowers, the cake or scones (of course) and the companionship of a small group of like-minded women (with the humour of a helpful Steve) have been a safe-haven for me during a time where hospitalisation was the only other option. If you need an activity that gives you some high quality me-time, then you need to shout yourself a Francesca's Flower Club kit or an in-person workshop.
