Mindful Pottery Wheel Workshop for Beginners
(+75 more dates)
Description
Looking for relaxing things to do in Melbourne? Experience relaxation and mindfulness as you play and shape pottery on the spinning wheel at Heer Pottery studio.
In this hands-on class, you will have free time to familiarise yourself with the potter's wheel and have a go experimenting with different techniques as you make unique ceramic pieces to take home the same day!
For the first 30 minutes, your teacher will introduce you to the magic of the wheel, familiarise you with essential setups and provide you with insightful tutorial cards to guide your journey.
In the next hour, you will be immersed in a therapeutic clay crafting experience by yourself. Let your creativity flow and mould your masterpiece. (Our teacher will be there to create a supportive and unobtrusive environment, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in your creative process. If any questions or ideas pop up, feel free to ask!). Please note this time is for you
Then, in the last 20 minutes (picking up work and cleaning machines), the teacher will help you take your pieces off from the wheel and together, as a community, we'll tidy up our workspace, ensuring everything is in place.
By the end of the class, you'll be able to take every piece home just on same day!
Just a heads-up! While our workshop doesn't cover the firing process, the good news is that your creations will air-dry beautifully. You can use them as charming decorative plates for your watches, keys or jewellery. It's a fun way to add a personal touch to your space!
If you are looking for a workshop with firing process, we offer this Private Wheel Throwing Workshop with Kiln Firing or our workshop with glazing and firing service: Private Wheel Throwing Workshop with Glazes.
Booking Tips for Heer Pottery Classes:
Our classes are cozy and fill up fast! We understand life can be unpredictable. To help everyone have a great experience, please note our cancellation and rescheduling policies:
- To reschedule, please do so at least 3 days before your class begins. Late rescheduling (within 3 days before your class begins) will result in no refund.
- For cancellations, a full refund is available if you cancel at least 3 days before your class starts. Late cancellations will result in no refund.
Pick-up Reminder:
Please remember to pick up your creations within 4 months after the course. Any unclaimed pieces after this period will be donated to charity.
Please note: Ceramics can be such a fun and rewarding art form, but unfortunately, not every piece survives the kiln. Sometimes, they may break due to factors like excess moisture or unexpected explosions during firing, despite our best efforts to prevent issues during the finishing process. While we always do our utmost to ensure a successful outcome, we’re unable to offer refunds for pieces that crack naturally. However, if we determine the damage occurred due to a kiln or technician error, we’ll be happy to assist accordingly.
Thank you for understanding and helping us keep our classes smooth and enjoyable for all!
