Come and join our friendly group in Julie's busy studio this course is designed for the beginner through to experienced as all skill levels are catered for. Julie's studio is in a converted 1851 stables building within the JamFactory Artisans studios, part of the Seppeltsfield Winery Complex in The Barossa Valley, set in beautiful rolling hills and vineyards. This course is designed for the many who have inquired about an intensive Millinery course which is best suited for interstate as well as locals.
Intensive Classes run over 5 days, Monday to Friday 11am - 3pm. Class limited to three participants and could run with one student.
You can soak up the millinery and hat making while your partner soaks up the wine (!) with plenty of options for evening dinning and accomodation in the Barossa area, with late morning start you'll love the drive to Seppeltsfield through the vineyards spotting the wildlife along the way.
Learn how to make hats to a couture level with like minded people - from the expert! In Novemeber 2015 Julie made a Hat for HRH Camilla Dutchess of Cornwall as a Gift from the people of the State of South Australia. Julie Fleming met the HRH Charles and HRH Camilla when they visited her studio in South Australia on 10th November 2015. This was Julie's second brush with British Royalty having trained and worked in London with London Milliner Philip Somerville, who was hat maker under Royal Warrant to The Queen and Diana, Princes of Wales.
Julie will guarantee you will enjoy the hand making process, pick up LOTS of usefull tricks - you will be able to expand your knowledge of hand making hats and special trims. You will expect to make at least one hat (summer or winter) or perhaps you are a student looking to create a special piece for your folio? Some of the smaller items and tools that you need will be supplied or available at a small charge.
Materials could add $100 to the class cost depending on the requirements for your design. Use any material you like to make a hat Julie will know the best way to put it together. Remember there are many wonderful accomodation options in the Barossa region.

Milliner Julie Fleming (est 1989) is dedicated to style and design and is one of Australia's best known Fashion Milliners she also makes for Film and Television. Fully trained in London with Philip Somerville, whose client list included the Queen, The Late Princess of Wales, as well as many members of Royalty, politics and stage and screen. Julie most recently made a hat for Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall as the gift from the people of South Australia.
