Deb runs engaging photography classes in Melbourne for beginners and enthusiasts eager to explore their creativity and develop photography and camera skills. With over 30 years as a professional photographer and 10 years teaching at RMIT, Deb now offers boutique workshops that inspire, build confidence, and provide a safe, fun learning environment.
The new Balam Balam Place in Brunswick is a new purpose‑built creative and community precinct. A perfect space for the new 6 week "Photography for Women" class.

Deb was a fantastic photography teacher who approached concepts with patience and clarity. I went into the course without any knowledge of how cameras work, like apertures, f-stops, shutter speeds and ISOs but Deb explained the foundations clearly and gave me the confidence to start taking better photos. She challenged me to think about light, composition and taking photos with intention. Through the course I learnt to identify good shots with my eyes and then execute them with my camera. I highly recommend Deb's courses.

I have been taught by Deb a number of times for different levels of tuition over the years and I’ve loved every minute of it. Deb is an incredible teacher who is able to simplify the most difficult of concepts into joyful, practical learning. Being in a lesson with Deb is so seamless, she makes everyone feel very welcome and has genuine happiness for anyone’s new photography discovery, no matter how small - every step forward is worth celebrating. I highly recommend Deb as a teacher whether you’re just starting out, or looking to challenge yourself with an advanced level of learning. You’re guaranteed to see the world differently after a few hours with Deb..!! Five stars!

Cancellations & Refunds

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

A refund can be requested 5 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$10.00 applies.
A transfer can be requested 5 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
A credit note can be requested 5 days before the class starts. Free of charge.

No changes will be allowed after these times.

Terms & Conditions

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Deborah Dorman Photography or organised by Deborah Dorman Photography must agree to these terms and conditions.

1.) LIABILITY WAIVER

I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Deborah Dorman Photography

2.) PHOTO & VIDEO

I agree to give Deborah Dorman Photography unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Deborah Dorman Photography classes and events or on Deborah Dorman Photography premises. (For use of Deborah Dorman Photography marketing materials).
