Field Trip is a brilliantly run space. The team there have a remarkable combination of a highly talented and experienced ceramics studio with great teachers down stairs combined with a fully functional gallery space upstairs run by Diamanda the Gallery Manager. For anyone looking to exhibit in Brisbane this gallery is a must. It has all the right people, great visibility at the start of latrobe terrace in Padgington a heavy foot traffic space. In my 18th year of exhibiting its one of the most organised spaces I've been.

Field Trip Gallery and Ceramic School is a standout creative space in Brisbane. Centrally located in Paddington, the gallery is light-filled and breezy, hosting regular exhibitions of contemporary artworks that feel both thoughtful and engaging. Located beneath the gallery, the ceramic school is a welcoming creative space. The teaching, led by Clairy Laurence, is generous, skilled and grounded in genuine encouragement. Clairy has created a strong sense of community that makes you want to keep coming back. Whether you're brand new to clay or an experienced maker, you're supported to explore, experiment and grow. Field Trip beautifully balances professionalism with warmth, and excellence with encouragement. Highly recommended to anyone interested in ceramics, contemporary art, and creative learning done well.

I just completed a 2.5 day ceramic workshop at field trip and it's been one of the best ceramic experiences I've ever had. The studio space itself is lovely with everything you need to create. Clairy was wonderful at teaching this workshop and I'm so amazed at what I was able to produce with her guidance. It wasn't rushed and she was attentive with each student and really helped bring all of our ideas to life. I was able to attend a couple of extra studio days to complete my piece. As a bonus, everyone who attended was just awesome and the studio and the people have such a welcoming and accepting vibe. Highly recommend!!
