Description

This six-hour painting workshop is open to all levels. It is best suited to complete beginners and those who are getting back into painting after a long hiatus. While intermediate students may be familiar with many concepts that will be taught, this course can offer some challenge to improve existing painting skills.

This class will use the water-based medium gouache. We will discuss colour mixing, tonal values and put our theory into practice with a painting study of fruit and vegetables. There will be a 30-minute lunch break in the afternoon.

There will be demonstrations and one-on-one guidance throughout the classes. All required painting materials will be supplied. This is a fast-paced and fun class where you will take home one small finished painting!

Your teacher is Sheng Yi Lee, who has been teaching since 2017 and is a practicing artist. You can browse her work on Instagram @shengyi.lee.

A very enjoyable class with Sheng, who was super friendly and knowledgable. It was a nice steady pace, I never felt rushed and it was a supportive environment. We began with theory in the morning, and created our own pieces in the afternoon. Sheng's work is beautiful and very inspiring to see!

I loved this class! Sheng is a great teacher, and the others in the class were really supportive - the small class size made it a really friendly and chill environment to learn. I left with two complete paintings (an avocado and a banana) that I'm excited to display, and a whole bunch of new skills like colour mixing, matching tones, underpainting, and painting!

Painted a nice orange and banana. Framed it on my bedroom. Would recommend 10/10
