Lino Printmaking Workshop (April 2021)

Lino Printmaking with The Windsor Workshop

Description

Did we mention that Lino Printing very quickly became one of our favourite lockdown activities - its addictive nature and stunning immediate results will have you coming back time and time again.  A relief printmaking technique traditionally using Linoluem (don't worry we have an easy cut version for you … yew!), this craft covers so many elements of art, craft and design…. and we can’t WAIT to show you how.

In this workshop, we'll spend time preparing a unique design, researching inspiration and discussing the do’s and don’ts to make your creation a total success (this workshop will pleasantly challenge your brain as you begin to think in reverse eeeeeek).  You will then transfer the design onto your lino, carefully cutting out and around your illustration and then finally learning the printmaking technique to create your final masterpiece. Once you have carved your design into your lino, the opportunity to create hundreds and hundreds of prints is all yours. We will, of course, send you on your way with all the materials needed to keep creating your prints…. believe me, you will be coming back for more in no time at all.

I was very excited to being doing this course and it lived up to my expectations. Bel and Bree were so welcoming and made everyone feel right at home. The box that we received with all the materials for the day also included other goodies that were a surprise and delight. Instructions were clear and examples aplenty of the work we could achieve. There was a very tasty snack during our afternoon break with refreshing beverages. Then it was back to work completing our lino masterpiece with a final print. Everyone produced a great final piece some of which were amazing. I feel that I have been given all the tools to now go forward to produce lovely works at home. Thanks very much to Belinda and Bree for a fun and informative day.

Just finished the printmaking class at the Windsor Workshop and had a really fun afternoon. Everything is provided and a little more for you to continue the craft at home. Great afternoon break, with delightful yummy food plates and a delish Sangiovese. There was a really good mix of classmates, all different skill sets and backgrounds which made for interesting conversation and swapping of ideas. The ladies are great together and really encourage you all through the afternoon. I have classes with them before, so I knew I was in good hands. Most enjoyable.
