Social Sewing
(+3 more dates)
Description
Sewing is more fun with friends! Join us for a simple and relaxed day. or evening, of sewing with the company of other sewists!
Bring your fabric and your chosen pattern, and join other sewists to sit and sew for a whole chunk of time! Make this day/evening yours by choosing to use as it as a day to get tick off your "to sew list" or just to be social and sew a little bit.
Times :
Weekends socials 930 - 430pm - that's 7 whole hours of sewing! You can come and go as you please.
THIS IS A SOCIAL SIT AND SEW TIME - IT IS NOT A WORKSHOP FOR DETAILED HELP WITH YOUR PROJECT. There are varied skill levels in the class so we pool our knowledge and help. If you would like to be assisted with your sewing, it's best to book into one of our classes.
What do I need to bring?
All your own sewing equipment that you need that day, the project/s you want to work on and lunch (there is a microwave and fridge onsite or it's a short walk to a number of cafes on Addison Road). * if you happen to forget thread or any notions, there is a small shop at the studio.
Will there be space to cut out?
There are two stand up cutting tables but I would suggest that you bring your projects already cut and ready to go, simply to maximise your sewing time!
Skill level?
This is not a workshop and all skill levels are welcome. If you are a beginner (or even been sewing for a while) and need some help with a project, there will be plenty of others who would be happy to give you some advice.
Are refunds available?
No I'm afraid not, sorry!
How many spaces are there?
10 people is the absolute max.
See you there! xx

Credit Original Work: Always credit the original designers, patterns, or inspiration for your projects when sharing in the studio or on social media.

Regular Attendance: Regular attendance is encouraged to foster a strong community and also impacts class numbers and if that class can go ahead. Notify us if you will be absent for an extended period as your booking could have been taken by another willing student.
Active Participation: Engage actively in studio activities and discussions. Your ideas and contributions help enrich our community.
Conflict Resolution
Addressing Issues: If conflicts arise, address them respectfully and seek mediation from studio teachers if necessary.

Positive Communication: Engage in positive and respectful conversations. Avoid topics that are likely to upset or offend others. This includes avoiding heated political discussions or other contentious topics not related to the activities of the sewing studio.
Feedback with Compassion: When giving feedback, do so with compassion and respect. Be sensitive to the feelings of others and offer constructive critiques that aim to uplift and assist, rather than demean.
