Are you ready to create a piece of art that you can use for years to come?
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to paint and glaze a ceramic plate with your own image or design. Draw inspiration from a range of styles; Japanese and Italian style ceramics, Impressionist painting and contemporary Aboriginal artists. The plates will be decorated with images, created or chosen by each student!
Creating your own ceramic wares can be a wonderful, practical application of your talent. Whether it’s home wares for your own home, a gift or perhaps a way to make some cash selling at the markets. If you were to do it on your own, it's a laborious process... you need access to a kiln, have plenty of time and plenty of practice. At Work-shop we are going to skip all the hard bits and just do the fun part!
This is an opportunity to tap into the underlying talent within our community and make your dreams a reality.
It was a fun class doing something that is not widely offered. However it was really annoying we were waiting over 30 mins to get into the actual building on such a warm morning, there should have been someone there early to have it open knowing there was a class where students paid and were given times for. I was surprised there were not many more stencils or items for the students to use to help create designs other than books. I had already had my inspiration pieces so I did not need the books but I did however expect items to help me create my designs, instead I had to share with other students, the one stencil available to draw my shapes. This cut into our time heavily and I had expected a plethora of aids there. The instructor was very nice and motivational however, but for the price of $70 I would probably not do this class again.
