First Aid is the emergency care provided to an injured or ill person before professional medical help arrives. The objectives of first aid are to preserve life, protect the unconscious, prevent the condition from worsening, promote recovery, and seek medical assistance.
This accredited course includes both theoretical and practical components. By completing this course successfully, participants will acquire three nationally recognised units of competency:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
Course Components
- Component 1 - Online: Covers 12 instructional sections including CPR, bleeding wounds, burns, bites/stings, and more. Each section features assessments that must be completed with a 100% pass mark before moving to the next.
- Component 2 - Practical: Face-to-face training where you will learn and demonstrate various first aid skills, including handling different emergency scenarios.
Participants are required to complete the online modules and bring their Certificate of Completion to the in-person practical training day.
