Learn to mix muddle shake and garnish classic cocktails from scratch using locally handcrafted botanical simple syrups. 

The 90 min cocktail class will teach the basics of mixology, balancing flavours, glass selection and garnishing.

Show casing 4 popular cocktails and how to turn them into festive drinks for celebrating Christmas and New Years.

What you'll do in class

A hands-on interactive cocktail class. You'll learn the best techniques to mix, muddle and shake your own mocktails to perfection with expert guidance using premium mixers.

Hosted by Karen Dover food scientist, teacher and founder of Botanikos Syrups, this class will give you the basics of mixing delicious drinks from scratch. Learn how to shake, garnish and balance flavours like a professional. Discover easy recipes that you can use at your next social event!

During the class participants will taste the range of botanical syrup flavours and select one to make a practise making a gin and tonic using a bar spoon. Karen will talk about bar equipment, glass selection, maceration, mixing and stirring martinis, double straining, balancing sweet sour bitter flavours and how to make attractive garnishes. You will mix and taste three cocktails and one mocktail.

The class will end at 9pm and you will leave with basic bar skills and a complimentary botanical flavoured syrup to take home to practise with.

Equipment, mixers and instruction are provided at a cost of $100 per person which includes 3 cocktail drinks and 1 mocktail plus a take-home bottle of your choice of flavoured syrup [Lemon, Lime, Hibiscus, Bitter Orange or Lavender] to take home and practise what you have learnt.


Make a Lemon Drop Vodka Martini (shaken not stirred), Hibiscus Tequila Sour (muddled), Christmas Pudding Fizz (garnish) and one delicious Minty Mojito mocktail (all of the above).
