Freeform Stone Carving for Jewellery
Sometimes a generic stone just doesn’t do the trick, and you need a one-of-a-kind, absolutely unique centre piece that no-one will ever be able to buy from a supplier.
When that is the case, then the only way to get that is to carve it yourself!
There is nothing like knowing that the stunning piece you made for your client (or yourself) is self-made in its entirety, and that you did it from start to finish.
In this class you will learn how to pick a great stone, what tools and materials you will need, and how to maximise the beauty of the stone using simple tools available in most workshops right now.
Come and join me for a fun class of exploration, design, discovery and a heaping of water-logged shenanigans, and go away with a stunning stone that is truly, perfectly yours!

What to wear
This is a no-fire day at the Makery, so anything you’d be comfy in for the day is fine. It is, however, going to be a SOGGY class ;-) so if you have a waterproof apron, or a large towel, bring that with you. Avoid trailing sleeves that can get caught up in the work, and to keep rings and bracelets to snag-free pieces.
This class encompasses both beginner and intermediate level students. You will need to be over 16yrs old and able to concentrate for the full day. Bring your sense of humour for a day of laughs and learning!
Welcome to the home of Gilded Poppy Makery, a fun, relaxing place to learn the art of Silversmithing.
