Online Business Fundamentals for Creatives
Janine Hendry is the owner of the Guild of Objects, and is an experienced business owner and advisory to many large companies in Australia and overseas. This workshop is Business Fundamentals - what you need to know when starting your creative business.
Janine will provide you with some simple tips in setting up and managing the administration, commercial & financial side of your business so you can focus on the creative aspects of your business.
In this class she will share with you some of her experiences in starting and running a business. This workshop is suitable for all of these thinking of starting a business as well as those who are underway but may be feeling they need to realign a few aspects of their business to enable their business to grow.

What you will learn
- In this workshop she will share with you some of her experiences in starting and running a business specifically for art and craft-based businesses.
- Kris will cover things like the legal requirements in setting up your business, staffing and the requirements in paying staff, insurance requirements, legal requirements such as BAS and GST.

Please note that unfortunately the building is not wheelchair accessible, as there is a flight of approximately 10 steps at the building's entrance.

We are running a workshop series that will help Creatives to establish and grow their own businesses.
The Guild of Objects is a registered Social Enterprise
The Guild of Objects is a space that supports and holds space for all to pursue, source or explore their own innate creativity. The Guild provides a space for artists, craftspeople and makers to sell their products. The Guild runs workshops in a beautiful home like environment that gives everyone the opportunity to explore their own creativity and finally the Guild organises and runs design, craft and art tours to Japan, Bali and France in order to provide a forum to explore the world through a creative lens.
The Guild is a space that honours the notion of Connection through Creativity.
Connections with ones creativity, connection with ones self and connection to others through mutual pursuit.

Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
- A refund can be requested 3 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$25.00 applies.
- A transfer can be requested 1 day before the class starts. Free of charge.
- A credit note can be requested 1 day before the class starts. Free of charge.
No changes will be allowed after these times.

Terms & Conditions
You may be photographed at this event. Please advise us in writing prior to the workshop via email to objects@guildofobjects.com if you do not wish to be photographed prior to the Workshop taking place.
Cancellations - Guild of Objects reserves the right to cancel any scheduled workshop. In the event that the Guild of Objects cancels a workshop, you will be offered either a full refund or the opportunity to transfer into the next class.
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) RESPONSE
The Guild of Objects has put together an action plan to mitigate the risks from coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Guild of Objects acknowledges the health risks of people gathering together but sees events such as workshops are a vital part of our community and can continue to be a place of safety and enjoyment if everyone plays their part.
The objective of the Guild is to support Artists, Makers and Craftspeople and as such our workshops provide financial support for the artists who work with us.
At all our events we will be putting in place additional hygiene measures in order to help minimise the possibility of contamination. This will include hand washing facilities and an increase in the frequency of cleaning of shared spaces.
We have limited the number of participants at each workshop to 12 as this will ensure that we can maintain the recommended social distance between participants.
If you are ill or have been placed into home isolation the Guild will allow you to transfer into a later workshop or if you give us 48 hours’ notice we will provide a refund.
While we have put hygiene measures and increased our efforts to minimise contamination, attendance at our workshops is at your own risk.
