Homestead Enterprises

Homestead Hill is a Bed and Breakfast/Farmstay practicing in sustainable living.  Our passion for sustainable living was a motivating force that created Homestead Enterprises. We are a small country farmstead and we raise our own meat, produce and eggs. We take great joy in sharing amazing experiences with people from across the globe who attend our educational and fun workshops in Cheese Making, Home Preserves, Sausage and Salami Making along with Wood Fired Smoking. 

Pat and Linda both grew up on farms that were self-sustaining (back then we called it survival).  Pat in North America and Linda in Australia.  Linda learned wonderful skill sets from her Grandmother and Mother (both born in Italy) and gained further knowledge from Pat’s Grandmother and other pioneers while living in North America.  Pat has been Smoking and BBQ for 40 years.  He is very passionate about it and loves to experiment.  Therefore, our classes have both a European and North American Influence.

Homestead Hill is close enough to Melbourne to have all the modern conveniences but still be far away enough to escape the city hustle and bustle.  Homestead Hill is located in the Macedon Ranges that is well known as a picturesque region of fertile river valleys, rolling hills and tree-clad ranges.  We are a 15 minute drive from Hanging Rock an icon of the Ranges and an internationally recognized attraction.   Other points of interest include walking trails, mountain biking and road cycling, as well as some excellent wineries in the region. Homestead Hill offers as much or as little as you may want to do for a relaxing getaway.
