Knifemaking Workshop - Stainless Steel Chef Knife

Description
A 2-day Stainless Steel Chef's Knife workshop where each participant will learn how to create a knife of this style with stock removal techniques.
- Shape the profile (outline) of the Knife
- Drill pin holes
- Heat Treat, cryogenically treat and temper the blade
- Mark and Grind Bevels post heat treat
- Hand sand the bevels
- Attach a hand and shape ergonomically
- Sharpen the finished blade
You will follow along all steps of this process on your own knife which you will take home at the end of the 2-days.
We will supply all materials including Stainless Steel blade steel, professionally stabilized wood for handle material, pins to secure the handle, all abrasives & epoxy required.
Open to all 18+ Adults.
This workshop will run for a full day from 8:30am to around 5pm. Please en-devour to arrive by 8:15am.
Please wear enclosed boots or shoes, cotton jeans or work-pants & cotton shirt - no flammable materials.
We can supply Eye and Ear protection.
Please also bring a water bottle as it is important you are hydrated, we will have approximately a 1 hour lunch break so either bring lunch or you can purchase from nearby vendors on Burt street.

We are a not for profit association for blacksmithing, to preserve the craft and provide a facility to empower members to socialise and create artistic pieces for the benefit of their mental health and be a support for each other and the community.
We are a member of the Australian Mens Shed Association.
We offer some Beginner workshops, and when funds allow add to the list we can offer.

If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
- A refund can be requested 7 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$25.00 applies.
