Description

BEGINNER & BEYOND 4 or 5 WEEK SEWING COURSE

Let's really get sewing! This 5 or 10 week Learn to Sew course is for those who want to get sewing fast and consistently!

** BOOK THE WHOLE TERM OF EVENING CLASSES TO RECEIVE $50 OFF. APPLIED IN THE CHECKOUT WHEN YOU CHOOSE THE FULL TERM DATES.  How to book info below.

** Please note that this class is an open level class. There will be sewists at different stages in your class.  You will still get super personalised attention!

BEGINNERS:

Each week we will build on the skills learnt from the precious week.  The first two weeks will focussed on learning how to thread your machine, sew some basic stitches and sew a curved line plus hem, ending with making a tote bag in week one and two.  We'll then move onto PJ shorts.

Skill level: Complete beginner - bring your machine in the box!

BEYOND BEGINNER:

Whether you have sewn a little bit or a lot, this is a time for you to focus on that learning, a tricky technique, pattern or skill.  It's also a chance to get that project you have been wanting to tackle for ages, started and hopefully finished!

In this course, you will bring your own project/s to work on with the guidance of a sewing teacher.  We find that if you work on a project that interests you, or suits you best, you learn more and have more fun!

Skill level: Has sewn before & can thread your machine.

In five weeks, I made a tote, a pair of pyjama pants and a storage cover for our heater - Kelda has been a fantastic teacher and I look forward to classes every week.

I recently attended the Beginner and Beyond classes at Usefulbox Sewing School in Marrickville, and I couldn't be more happy with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed and supported by the tutor (and the other students). The school has everything you need for your projects - materials, tools, and plenty of expert guidance. A special shoutout to Caz, who was absolutely incredible. She went above and beyond to ensure I not only understood the various techniques but also made sure I finished my own project, even offering extra support when I needed it. Her patience and enthusiasm made all the difference, and I’m amazed at how much my sewing skills have improved in such a short time. If you're looking for a supportive and well-equipped sewing school, Usefulbox is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended and have already signed up for more classes.
