English Paper Piecing

English Paper Piecing

The basics of this sweet craft

Description

English Paper Piecing is making a cool comeback! And now it's time for you to learn this super satisfying craft.

We'll take two afternoons to learn this simple craft and then make something useful, a super sweet drawstring bag.

Day one will cover the basics of preparing and sewing the shapes together.  We'll be using hexagons and diamond shapes.  We'll focus on the skills so that you can finish your block over the two week break.

Day two will start with us admiring all the blocks you have been working on and then sewing up a simple lined drawstring bag. If we have time, we'll use the left overs to make a little cute needle book.

Suitable for beginners of EPP and adventurous beginner to advanced sewists.

What you will learn:

  • Basic EPP principles
  • How to sew up your finished EPP block

What is included:

  • A full kit including EPP papers, needle, glue, thread, fabrics
  • A take home worksheet with reference photos
  • Exceptional tuition with 5 others in the class
  • Copious cups of tea and coffee

Your Teacher

Caz, owner of Usefulbox, has been sewing since she was 9 years old and hasn't stopped.  Needing a portable craft, after firing knitting from her crafty pursuits, Caz discovered EPP and has fallen in love.  She loves that it is portable, pretty, uses scraps and is oh so satisfying!  She hopes you will feel the same!

Fabulous experience learning how to do EPP with Caz - for a non-sewist, she helped take away the fear of sewing up my project bag on a sewing machine - am now wondering whether I should buy one!
